If you have made the decision to get your hardwood refinished we all know it can be costly. By taking on some of the preperations that is required before any sanding can be done, depending on the size or type of flooring services your receiving you might be able to save up to a $1,000. The reason for this is, flooring contractors charge by the amount of square foot you want to be refinished, so any additional work might be of extra cost to the customers.

If you are ever caught with the dilemma
of choosing between regular oil based finish or water based
polyurethane here are some tips to simplify your decision. Keep in mind
both finishes are available in High Gloss, Semi-Gloss, and Satin sheens.
WATER BASED POLYURETHANE:dries
quickly,re-coats after at least 2 hours, Eco-friendly, odor free,
moisture resistant, easily maintained, more costly, works best with
pickled/bleached floors, durable and many more benefits.
OIL BASED POLYURETHANE:more durable, moisture resistant, most commonly used, takes between
6-10 hours to dry, highlights the wood's grain, less expensive, stronger
than water based polyurethane and a long list of other advantages. |
